Public Speaking

Project Overview
You will be asked to speak in front of the class two times in this course. The goal of the public speaking in our class is to improve your confidence and make you more comfortable speaking in front of a group. It will also help you prepare for the mid-term and final presentations.
You should speak for at least 1 minute each time. You will earn 4 points for each time you speak.. You will choose the day for your public speaking. If you successfully complete your speaking on that day, you will receive 4 points.
If for some reason you are not able to complete your speaking on your chosen day, you will have a chance to speak on another day, however you will lose 1 point. You will lose 1 point each time you miss a public speaking deadline.
Public speaking will not be graded, but you will complete a self-evaluation after you finish and discuss it with me.
Public Speaking 1: Self Introducion
Your speaking time must be between 1 minute - 1 minute 30 seconds. If you do not speak within this time limit, you will have the option to try again (no loss of points) or take reduced points (based on a negotiation between you and I).
You should tell the class about yourself. You can discuss your major, family, hobbies, interests or whatever you think is important about you.

You have the option to complete your public speaking from TBD.
Public Speaking 2: Media Talk
Your speaking time must be between 1-2 minutes. If you do not speak within this time limit, you will have the option to try again (no loss of points) or take reduced points (based on a negotiation between you and I).
In this speech, you will use the computer to share something you feel is interesting important with the class. This does not need to be related to you but you should try to relate it to your major if possible. You must use the computer, but you can use it in any way you want (photo, video, song, audio clip, etc.). *Please note! Any material shown using the computer MUST BE IN ENGLISH!!!*
