"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
- Benjamin Franklin
"Empowerment, after all, can only be claimed, not given."
- Stephen D. Brookfield, from Powerful Techniques for Teaching Adults
Following my teaching philosophy, my goal is to actively involve the audience as co-learners in a presentation rather than simply giving a lecture. I incorporate activities and work towards goals that ask participants to be empowered to use the knowledge and skills that, hopefully, the presentations can help them uncover. Inspired by a student-centered learning model and a desire to instill lifelong learning practices, I strive to make presentations an interactive, meaningful and useful experience.
